She attended Clemson and Furman University. Mrs. Ables was a member of Earles Grove Baptist Church, former teacher of Children Young Ladies, member of DAR, UDC Joy Club. Survivors: daughters, Carolyn Leonard of Charlotte, NC, Margaret Tate of Anderson, Nell Bruce of Anderson, Janice Goff of Raleigh, NC; daughter-in-law, Claudine E. Ables; sons, Hugh F.

Mrs. Ables was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born on December 14, 1941 in Fayetteville, NC, he was the son of the late Seavey Walter Brown and Alice Holmes Brown. He was a retired superintendent in the electrical industry.
