Athletics' Abraham Toro: Plates a pair in Sunday's loss
25m ago
Toro went 1-for-5 with a two-run single in an extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Toro erased a 2-1 deficit in the seventh inning with a bloop single that plated Tyler Soderstrom and Aledmys Diaz. The veteran infielder has hit safely in four straight games, although he's also uncharacteristically struck out seven times over that span. Nevertheless, Toro appears to have a firm hold of a leadoff spot and is carrying a solid .269 average and .708 OPS across 261 plate appearances.

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Hitting well with regular run
3h ago
Sosa went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base Sunday against the Red Sox.
Sosa has started eight straight games at third base since being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte and has at least one hit in six of those contests. He's hit .385 overall with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. While Sosa has primarily hit in the bottom third of the order, he should remain locked into regular playing time and could move up in the lineup if he remains productive.

Mets' Brett Baty: Could get work at second base
3h ago
Baty might see action at second base with Triple-A Syracuse, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
The Mets have struggled to get production from the keystone all season, with Jeff McNeil slumping to a career-worst .624 OPS. Jose Iglesias has filled in admirably against left-handed pitching of late, but the 34-year-old isn't a long-term solution. Baty could get a chance to fill that hole later in the year, especially if McNeil gets traded, but first he'll need to get himself straightened out at the plate -- Baty lost the starting job at third base due to a .229/.306/.327 slash line through 50 big-league games.

Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Likely to rejoin lineup Tuesday
4h ago
Red Sox manager Alex Cora suggested Sunday that he expects Devers (knee) to be back in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener versus the Phillies, MLB.com reports. "He's OK," Cora said of Devers prior to Sunday's 6-4 extra-inning over the White Sox. "Hopefully one day [off], [then Monday's team off day] and be ready for Tuesday. If he feels like he's banged up, giving him a day will benefit him."
Devers was lifted in the eighth inning of Saturday's 6-1 loss to Chicago after Cora said that the the third baseman's left knee was bothering him when he was getting ready to swing in the batter's box. Though Devers likely could have played Sunday if necessary, the Red Sox might have chosen to err on the side of caution and hold him out of the lineup after he had previously dealt with a bone bruise in the same knee in April that cost him five starts. After getting Sunday and Monday off, Devers should be ready to go for the three-game series with the Phillies, but fantasy managers may still want to confirm that he's starting Tuesday before locking him into lineups.

Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Swats home run Sunday
7h ago
Cabrera went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Dodgers.
Cabrera opened up the scoring with a solo home run off the right field foul pole in the third inning. It was his first home run since May 1 and his first extra-base hit since May 5. He started off the year cooking at the plate but has cooled off considerably and now finds himself in a depth role with the return of DJ LeMahieu to the lineup. For the year, Cabrera is slashing .238/.278/.360 with five homers, 22 RBI, 20 runs and a 10:33 BB:K in 176 plate appearances.
