First time watching Oak Park. On YouTube .
Running a lot of sweeps look fast. Hard to see though. They are a very different team this year!
Oak Park hasn't had a winning record in a very long time. Great turnaround story!
Oak Park undefeated and the frontrunner currently for district #1 seed.
Does Platte County have injuries? To play Smithville and Kearney so close although they were rivalry games, and then lost to Grain Valley and then this

Went to the game tonight. Its my 3rd game seeing Oak Park. They have gotten so much better since game 1.
I really don't know what Platte City was trying to do tonight. They had a little bit of success throwing the ball, but didn't seem interested in running the ball in the 1st half. They seemed like an undisciplined team, making several mistakes on kickoffs and Oak Park took advantage. I was also puzzled why their coach didn't play Chandavian Bradley more than 10 plays total (including both sides of the ball) in the first half. He had a great juggling catch in the endzone, but otherwise was a non-factor in this game.

I think they had one of the key players go out in the Smithville game with a broken collar

From what I've heard he has fallen under the spell of taking lots of plays off now that he has signed with Tennessee.

Probably wants to make sure he stays healthy for the bigger stuff to come. I could see this kid playing on Sundays. The tools sure are all there.

Platte County is missing their two best receivers and have for weeks. A third receiver that would have been the second best quit before the season got started. All-baseball. That is all.

I used to think all the athletes should play football too. Play multiple sports and such, but seeing all the injuries each week, I can definitely respect a kids decision to not play football and focus on baseball, basketball or whatever.
As Top said in a different thread football is a dangerous sport and unfortunately injuries are a part of it.

I knew a guy that was a D1 track athlete, could lift a lot, and had great hands...could catch anything. Never played a down of football. Coaches in his little town were not happy.

Coaches always fight to get athletes out for their sports, and rightfully so. Football is definitely a numbers game compared to other sports and coaches don't like seeing kids walk the halls that could help the team.

If he is taking time off and trying to stay healthy, probably not going to make it at the next level nor the Sunday games as well.

From what I understand, he never went hard every play beforehand. Hasn't signed with Tennessee yet, by the way. Obviously committed but can't sign until December.

He's a great athlete but I'd be shocked if that happened. Now the DE from NKC, I could see him playing on Sundays.

I am torn Week 7 between attending all the Kearney Alumni (40 freaking years already good God I'm old) events that Friday or waiting and doing the all classes one and going to the Oak Park at NKC game. That could very well be the Metro Game of the Week!
